Gajol Doba Mega Tourism Hub
Just 5 Kms from Saraswatipur Tea Resort

The natural beauty of Gajol Doba with its view of the Baikunthapur forest and Teesta River has always attracted tourists and locals to the area. And now with the West Bengal government's initiative to promote mega tourism in the area, Gajol Doba is steadily taking increased prominence. With an area of more than 200 acres, the place is poised to become one of the high end tourist destinations of North Bengal.

There are many interesting sightseeing places around Gajol Doba. The barrage in itself is worth spending some time. One may also take a ride in the local fisherman's boat in the downstream Teesta during the lean season. The Apalchand forest across the river is famous for its population of pachyderm while a number of wildlife varieties can be spotted in the Baikunthapur forest on the western side of the river. Other attractions are the weekly Monday ‘Haat’ (rural market), majestic views of the Kanchenjunga, cycling trips/trekking, etc.

Earlier, there was no regular commercially available tourist accommodation in the area. Tourists wishing to visit Gajol Doba had to be based in Siliguri, Jalpaiguri or Gorumara. Now with Saraswatipur Tea Resort coming up at a distance of just 5 kms from Gojol Doba, it will be quite advantageous for tourists to stay close by Gajol Doba mega tourism hub.

The luxury resort will start operating from August, 2018 and will have advance booking facility through its booking partner My Jungle Trip which is also looking after the branding of the resort. For more details on online booking of suites/rooms in the resort
