LAPCHAKHA- A gift form God: Amrita Goswami

Lapchakha – a Gift from God
Amrita Goswami

Our last week destination was Lapchakha en-route Buxa.
As the morning rays of the sun glorify the historical Buxa Fort, we trek more north towards Khataline. The winding hilly path past the small hamlet is quiet tough. A halt here and there suddenly makes the bird lover sight his choices. The consecutive twists and turns takes one to his utter a vast openness... to a plateau atop the hillock!

Lapchakha is a gift from God.

The 180degrees panorama gives a bird's eye view of the numerous rivers... Katlung, Raidak, Jainty, Bala, Buxajhora, Masanikhola, Dima, Basra, Torsa... alongwith the towns and villages!  The veil of clouds seems majestic as they slowly uncover the setting sun.
Lapchakha is a photographer's delight, a paradise for a lover of nature, a bird watcher's treasure and a trekker's joy.
